Under the bonnet, the car has the same 1.6-litre diesel as in the other two variants. But engineers have dropped power by 8bhp to 110bhp, in favour of more miserly economy and lower emissions. Citroen believes this could appeal to business users and high-mileage private owners.
Prices start at ÷£15,095, which includes the VTR"s NaviDrive - boasting voice-activated satellite navigation and telephone features - cruise control and metallic paint. An estate version is also available with a similar specification, costing ÷£16,195.
