But not content with that, Vauxhall has introduced its Panoramic windscreen in time for Paris. I know some readers have concerns about possible insurance problems (see letter of the week, opposite), but for í‚á£1,000, the driver and front-seat passengers get a huge, unique, curvaceous and airy glass expanse from the edge of the bonnet over their heads and into the roof. In the nicest possible way, it"s abnormal.

Toyota will reveal its...

Toyota will reveal its next Prius at January’s Detroit Motor Show. The car – set to take cues from the Hybrid X seen at Geneva last year – will be bigger than at present, but promises lower emissions, more power and 13 per cent better economy.

Citroen is also readying a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol unit for its C2 and C3 hatches. Even the 100bhp variant will emit only 100g/km of CO2.
