Honda is suing Chinese...
Honda is suing Chinese firm ShuangHuan Auto over a lookalike version of its CR-V off-roader. The 4x4 is seen here at the Beijing Motor Show, and the cloning even extends to the name. Amazingly, this car is called the SR-V, and may interest Audi"s lawyers, too - it has half of the German firm"s four-ringed logo on the bonnet! Hironori Kanayama, president of Honda Automobile China, said: "We can"t stand by and see our worldwide quality compromised by copies."
The tiny proportions...
The tiny proportions make it great in urban areas, although poor refinement and a small cabin rule the Jimny out for long-distance or family drivers
Off-roaders are all the rage, especially with the weather we can normally expect at this time of year – but 4x4s cost the earth, right?
Not if you spend your money on a Suzuki Jimny! Perfect for first-time buyers, the little SUV is in its element on rural roads, where its high driving position boosts visibility and all-wheel drive improves traction.
The tiny proportions make it great in urban areas, although poor refinement and a small cabin rule the Jimny out for long-distance or family drivers. Admittedly, the interior trim is low-rent, but when you look at how much this model costs, it’s hard to fault! We spotted plenty of 2000 V-reg cars with about 65,000 miles for ÷£2,500 – perfect for a runaround that is able to cope with occasional off-road duties.
You can even opt for a soft-top, which adds a few hundred pounds to the screen price, but makes the Jimny a great summer drive, too. An automatic commands a similar premium.
Post-2003 Mode examples are the best buys, and include remote central locking and part-leather upholstery. Meanwhile, the soft-top-based O2 limited edition gets alloy wheels, front foglights and two-tone paintwork.
