The latest figures reveal...

The latest figures reveal that they fetched higher prices at auction last year than in 2005.

The average value of a typical three-year-old 60,000-mile fleet car last

year was ?6,575, yet in 2005 that figure was only ?6,222. A BCA spokesman explained. “Ex-fleet and lease cars are generally one-owner vehicles, popular makes and models, well specified, well maintained and come with a full history.”

Many big firms are holding on to their cars for longer. This delay in the disposal of their fleets by as little as two months has restricted supply, which is also partly responsible for the hike in values.
