The entry-level 2.2-litre 320i replaces the 318i, and is priced at í‚á£21,090, a í‚á£140 increase over the outgoing model. The 320d is expected to be the most popular variant, and will cost í‚á£22,890 as opposed to í‚á£22,750 for the current car. Top of the range at launch will be the firm"s 258bhp 330i.
It comes with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine made of lightweight magnesium alloy, and will be priced from í‚á£28,450 - up í‚á£200. Another six-cylinder derivative - the 2.5-litre 325i - will join the line-up in late April, priced from í‚á£25,150.
The biggest rises are on ES-spec models, as the cost of this trim on outgoing cars had been cut in prep- aration for the replacement. The 320i ES is í‚á£21,560, while its predecessor was í‚á£19,995. All new 3-Series models feature a trip computer, front centre armrest, electric rear windows and a CD player as standard.
