It"s here at last ò€“ Fordò€™s new 4x4 has broken cover. These are the first official pictures of the Focus-based off-roader, the Kuga, which is set to go on sale early next year.

Despite a raft of innovations, the new model will seat only five, unlike its Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90 rivals. But it"s 15cm longer than the outgoing car, so interior space will be boosted. High-quality cabin materials will address a major criticism of the current model. And much work has been done to make the M-Class a true off-roader.

Is this the most expensive car ever sold? The answer is almost certainly yes, if auction house Christie"s has its way. The rare GP racer from Audi goes under the hammer this weekend - and is expected to reach ÷£7.88million.

The company confirmed...

The company confirmed the change of direction after it supplied us with this official picture of the 350C being put through its paces in Saudi Arabia. It"s hoped the new development scheme will improve TVR"s record on mechanical reliability. Head of marketing Phil James told us: "We think the improvements in quality and durability will be warmly welcomed."

Despite the lack of testing before, engineers said the cars performed well in the desert. The programme has resulted in numerous minor changes, with an emphasis on component durability. And that has led the firm to put its money where its mouth is, as Russian boss Nikolai Smolenski has unveiled a fresh warranty scheme. Any new model bought after 1 March - on an 05-plate - will come with three years or 36,000 miles of cover. This is uncharted territory for TVR, which previously offered only a single-year deal, with a two-year, unlimited mileage engine guarantee.
