A car for less than the price of a TV! That’s the eye catching claim being made by Hyundai about its cut-price Amica.

A month ago, I asked if the world could only have one car, which should it be? My answer to that was the Kia Cee’d, as it’s well built, cheap and can do pretty much everything. Thankfully, we have lots of choice. And while there are plenty of different classes of vehicle available, I’m reluctant to nominate one model that I consider to be better than the rest over the last 12 months.

Judging by this van, there"s no end to Vauxhall"s VXR sporting intentions. While this Vivaro is a one-off to support the VX Racing team in the British Touring Car Championship, the firm plans more VXR models. Insiders say the VX220, Monaro and 2005"s hot Astra will be followed by a 230bhp VXR Zafira and a 1.6-litre Meriva turbo.

The cabin remains unchanged...

The cabin remains unchanged from the hatch, while that car"s 107bhp 1.5-litre and 147bhp 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines are also carried over. The latter gives the CZC a 0-60mph time of 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 126mph. Prices will be revealed nearer to its June launch, but the range should start at ÷£14,000.
