Externally, there"s a subtle but significant makeover. The trademark large headlamps are reshaped and mounted to the front of the car, rather than on the bonnet. Meanwhile, the grille is redesigned and more upright, leaving a shorter bonnet opening. This simpler design will help improve the MINI"s Euro NCAP pedestrian crash test rating.

The big cat is out of the bag! Here are the first pictures of Jaguarò€™s facelifted XK, seen for the first time without any front-end camouflage. Ò 

Although the changes are subtle, the redesigned front bumper with smaller slot-like air vents below the headlights are clearly visible. Other changes include a restyled rear bumper, LED taillights for the first time and indicators incorporated into the wing mirrors.

A small power increase is expected for the 4.2-litre V8 in naturally aspirated and supercharged form, while the automatic ò€˜drive-selectò€™ transmission from the XF will be offered too.

Jaguarò€™s new XK is due to hit showrooms early this year, but weò€™ll get our first peek when itò€™s unveiled at the Detroit Expo next week.
