The K5.91MD Plus packs a punch, delivering a 135-bar jet of water that should be more than enough to shift the most stubborn mud and road dirt from the bodywork of your vehicle.
According to the manufacturer, to achieve the best results you’ll need to wet the car all over for a few minutes so that the dirt will be loose when it comes to spraying the soap on.
The soaking power comes from a long-life 2,100kw induction motor – this can push out an impressive 450 litres of water per hour. Kärcher’s newcomer also boasts a handy line-up of accessories to make cleaning easier.
Top of the list is a twin-detergent tank, which enables users to switch between cleaners for different jobs – so there’s less fiddling about when you’re moving from cleaning the car to blasting the patio, for example.
As is the case with the rest of the range, there is also a soft storage compartment on the reverse of the washer to hold tools – and this is a real bonus, as an array of extras is thrown in as part of the package. Included is a low-blow gun, which is ideal for jobs on delicate surfaces, plus a variable pressure lance and a Dirtblaster. As the name suggests, the latter should help you remove even the toughest of roadside muck that you are likely to pick up on your car at this time of year.
The flexible hose is 7.5m long, so most cars can be cleaned without the need to move the washer. It also makes awkward areas on the roof of your car easy to reach. How÷ever, as the unit is mounted on wheels, it can be shifted around easily enough.
