What does "zero-nize"...
What does "zero-nize" mean? It"s the new buzzword for Toyota"s vision of the future. A company spokesman explained: "It refers to the eradication of the negative effects of traffic accidents, congestion and environmental impact." This basically means making the firm"s cars safer and cleaner. Bosses want to zero-nize things by 2010.
The Heritage Motor Centre...
The Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon, Warks, has agreed a deal with Nanjing Automobile - new owner of Rover"s Longbridge plant - to safeguard historically important artefacts, documents and photos. At the same time, an auction of MG Sport and Racing items will go ahead this month in Birmingham.
A wide range of archive material - including the maker"s last production car, a 75 - is already owned by the museum. It tells the story of the Longbridge site from its 1905 beginnings. The newly rescued items will be displayed later this year, while the Sport and Racing auction takes place on 25 March.
More than 900 lots of vehicles, accessories and workshop kit belonging to MG Rover"s motorsport division are going under the hammer. The sale includes race-prepared models, support vans and even an MGF concept. There are also keyrings, watches and MG Collection bone china tea sets! Visit www.wyleshardy.com for details.
