Most of us really are on the road to nowhere - as we can"t read maps! More than a third of the 2,000 motorists surveyed by online search engine Ask Jeeves struggled to use an AtoZ. Half preferred to travel with a map-literate passenger rather than do it themselves. The firm says people should visit www.ask.co.uk for its new maps and directions service.

SpongeBob SquarePants, a cartoon about a yellow sea sponge, was also criticised. Professor Deborah Glik explained: "Lack of depictions of safety behaviour can prove fatal to unassuming children who may mimic what they see."
