Q I"ve paid a deposit...
Q I"ve paid a deposit for a new Rover, but now I"ve changed my mind. Can I get my money back?
A Unlikely. The relationship is between you and the dealer. By signing an order form, you have entered into a contract.
Q I took delivery of my new Rover last week. In the light of recent events, can I now reject it?
A Only if it is not of satisfactory quality - such as a major problem with the car. That the firm which assembled it is in administration is irrelevant.
Q Having bought a new Rover a few months ago, will the warranty still be honoured?
A As Rover provided its own cover, this is a grey area which administrators will be looking at very carefully. If the company goes into full receivership, new-car warranties are in doubt. Extended deals are not affected, however, as they are supported by a third party, Car Care Plan.
Q Where will I be able to get my car serviced, and will replacement parts be available?
A Individual dealers are likely to want to hang on to as much business as possible, so will continue to look after their customers. Parts are supplied by components specialist Caterpillar, so their availability remains unaffected.
