Just one version of the new Evolution IX MR (‘Mitsubishi Racing’) will be available, powered by a 366bhp version of Mitsubishi’s 2.0-litre turbo engine. Claimed performance is 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 157mph.

Prices for Honda"s eagerly awaited FR-V people carrier have been announced. Petrol cars go on sale in November, with the base 1.7-litre SE costing í‚á£14,750. The 2.0 SE will be í‚á£15,700, with the high-spec 2.0-litre Sport at í‚á£16,400. Honda"s 135bhp i-CTDi diesel will appear in the spring, with prices from around í‚á£17,000.
