Parking firm NCP, which employs wardens in Islington, north London, has claimed the metre-high doll is a symbol of victimisation of its employees. "It might be a bit of fun to some people, but others can easily be offended," said a spokesman.
Local councillor Steve Hitchins added: "This doll is clearly in bad taste. Everybody is entitled to dignity and respect in their work, and a voodoo doll of a parking attendant in which pins are stuck is clearly designed to antagonise. Some of the local traders seem to have a quaint idea that the council"s previous bad practice of not enforcing parking restrictions should continue."
