The triple world champion seemed on target for his fourth consecutive victory, but spun and irreparably damaged his Citroen while holding a comfortable lead on the final morning. “Fortunately we had our luck when Seb crashed,” said the 39-year-old Finn. “I kept the pressure on him, and it’s nice to see he doesn’t drive like a machine all the time! It’s good to be leading the championship again.”

Motorway service giant...

Motorway service giant Moto is investing ÷£30million to bring newsagent WH Smith to its sites alongside the established Marks & Spencer Simply Food stores.

Moto’s CEO Tim Moss said: “We are very excited at the prospect of having WHSmith, as a partner in our network of motorway service areas, alongside Marks & Spencer.”

He added: “The ÷£30million refurbishment will bring about significant changes that more accurately reflect the needs and expectations of modern motorway travel."

The first five outlets to benefit are at Moto service centres on the M1, M4, M5, M23 and M42. More than 40 others are planned for 2007.
