Vauxhall is back in...

Vauxhall is back in business. In an effort to rediscover its title-winning form, VX Racing has ditched its disappointing Astra Sport Hatch. An exciting new Vectra-based racer has been introduced for the 2007 Dunlop British Touring Car Championship, which roars into action with three rounds at Brands Hatch, Kent, on Sunday.

Developed by Renault...

Developed by Renault to conquer Eastern European, Asian and African markets, the vehicle is based on the Logan saloon and estate, and is the third bodystyle to be launched off the platform. Under the bonnet is a choice of 1.5-litre diesel and 1.4 or 1.6-litre petrol engines - all supplied by the French parent company. The little load-lugger will carry 800kg, and should cost around ÷£6,500.

Look what washed up...

Look what washed up at the Detroit Motor Show ̣€“ it"s the MINI Beachcomber! Making its public debut on its own desert island complete with palm tree and deck chairs, the re-born Moke was a big hit.

Underneath the skin is the new MINI Crossman 4x4, to which MINI has added a dramatic body compelte with removable doors, chunky dune-spec tyres and a "spare tyre" that"s actually used for storage.

Based on the same long wheelbase platform as the Clubman, but with MINI"s new ALL4 four-wheel drive system, the Beachcomber should have the off-road ability to back up its looks.

However, before it gets the greenlight for production, the Crossman will go on sale in the Autumn priced at around ̉£18,000.
