A soft-top has been chosen as it weighs less than a folding hard top, which would blunt performance and raise the caṛ€™s centre of gravity.
One detail that"s missing from the Spyder compared to the coupe version are its signature ̣€˜sidebladeṣ€™ ̣€“ it"s likely that Audi has dropped these to further distinguish the two cars.
Audi is expected to launch the V8 R8 Spyder at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with the V10 Spyder appearing six months later.
