Three exterior colours are offered: silver, black or gunmetal grey. The í‚á£13,995 price tag includes í‚á£200 worth of extras, such as a Quickclear front windscreen, windbreak and branded carpet mats.

A flagship version of the Cadillac STS-V with even more aggressive styling made its public bow at the Detroit Show. Powered by a supercharged 4.4-litre V8 engine, the car is a rival to prestige models such as the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5-Series. It will go on sale in Britain through Cadillac"s recently announced dealer network.

Is this the end of the blind spot? Nissan is developing a system that gives drivers a bird"s eye view of their car and the surrounding area. The image is shown on a monitor mounted on the dashboard. Rear view cameras are already offered on many of the Japanese firm"s cars, but this new set-up will add side and front-mounted units. The technology is expected to appear first on luxury Infiniti models when they go on sale in Europe in 2008.
