Most of us really are...

Most of us really are on the road to nowhere - as we can"t read maps! More than a third of the 2,000 motorists surveyed by online search engine Ask Jeeves struggled to use an AtoZ. Half preferred to travel with a map-literate passenger rather than do it themselves. The firm says people should visit www.ask.co.uk for its new maps and directions service.

It"s the new flagship...

It"s the new flagship of the model range and has a 4.2-litre V8 engine and six-speed semi-automatic gearbox. Inspired by the current Maserati Trofeo racing series vehicles, it will be available in six colours, including the Fuji White seen here. The other models are the MCC and MCS race and road cars, which use the carbon fibre chassis and engine of the Ferrari Enzo. See next week"s Auto Express magazine for full details.

The 10th incarnation...

The 10th incarnation of the fast four-door will become more distinctive, thanks to the aggressive nose and headlamps influenced by the Grandis MPV. However, rally fans will be pleased to see the trademark rear spoiler has been kept to emphasise the car"s racing roots.

In yet another pre-Paris...

In yet another pre-Paris Motor Show leak, these images of the Audi A1 Sportback concept surfaced online only hours before the car was due to be officially unveiled!

The MINI rival will become the smallest car in the Ingolstadt makerò€™s stable when it hits showrooms at the end of next year, effectively plugging the gap left when the Audi A2 was discontinued.

As you can see, the newcomer certainly doesnò€™t lack visual flair, with clean lines inspired by last year"s Metro Project quattro. Itò€™s practical too, with a five-door layout and capable of transporting four adults thanks to two full-sized individual rear seats.

Powered by a 1.4-litre TSI engine developing 150bhp (thanks to a turbo and a supercharger) and mated to Audiò€™s twin-clutch S tronic gearbox, the A1 will be no slouch. Yet, the maker claims a highly impressive 92g/km CO2 figure, in part as a result of the carò€™s mild hybrid powertrain, with a 27bhp electric motor complimenting the engine.

Weò€™ll get more details when the newcomer is officially unveiled, so come back to Auto Express online tomorrow for the full story.
