The driving test could be changed following an increase in the number of accidents involving HGVs. Insurance firm Direct Line has suggested the examination should be adapted to include motorway tuition which informs people how to deal with larger road users at 70mph. There were 6,000 accidents involving lorries in 2003, resulting in 166 deaths.

special edition version of the flagship was given a host of upgrades,

including an ECU upgrade to 600bhp, to help it break jaguar"s previous

record of 217.1mph set in the Jaguar XJ220

in 1992. Unbelievably, this modified family saloon hit a top speed of

225.675mph at the Bonneville salt flats in Utah.

Changes that made this possible included a huge rear

wing, a revised air

intake and exhaust system, plus a more powerful supercharger enabling the extra power to be unleashed.

Rumours have already began circulating that

this could be the platform for a future XFR S limited edition...
