Extra kit available for new Impreza

It’s only been on sale for a few weeks, but already Subaru is trying to boost the appeal of its latest Impreza with a new range of accessories. Owners can create a sportier look for the new five-door hatch with front, side and rear skirts at ÷£245, ÷£395 and ÷£275 respectively. Other upgrades include a Bluetooth hands-free phone kit for ÷£210 and front and rear parking sensors for ÷£180 and ÷£165 each. All the prices include VAT, but exclude fitting.

It asked 644 drivers how much they would be prepared to pay before abandoning their car. Its results showed 55 per cent would let pump prices rocket to ÷£1.83 a litre before making the switch. The news comes as the cost of petrol smashes through the ÷£1 a litre barrier and looks set to hit an all-time high in the next few weeks.
