The first five examples...
The first five examples of Rolls-Royce’s Drophead Coupé have been delivered to their lucky owners – and Auto Express has been for an exclusive ride in one of them. However, the car we tried wasn’t sold through one of the firm’s six franchised outlets!
Even in basic trim...
Even in basic trim, the latest French supermini retains its sleek style. Meanwhile, the cabin will merge the practical attributes of the Modus supermini-MPV with the M탩gane hatch"s higher-quality materials.
Entry-level models will be powered by a choice of small petrol and diesel engines, and be available with three or five doors. Prices are yet to be announced, but buyers should expect to pay a small premium over the outgoing Clio, meaning the range will start at around í‚á£8,000.
Because of the eagerly awaited and more simple Twingo city car - expected in 2007 - bosses have decided to push the Clio further upmarket. Along with the base model, our spies have also caught a more luxurious variant out on the road, with test drivers enjoying the benefits of a large sliding sunroof. Following the recent introduction of the plush Modus Initiale, the French firm"s commitment to luxurious small cars is clear, and top-spec versions of the new Clio will be very well equipped.
Official shots of the new supermini will be revealed next month, but the entire model range won"t be unveiled to see in the metal until September"s Frankfurt Motor Show. Sales of right-hand-drive UK-spec Clios will begin before the end of the year.
