VA va voom has officially become part of the language. The phrase from Renault"s TV commercials starring French football ace Thierry Henry has been included in the Concise Oxford Dictionary. While he spends most of the ad trying to sum up what va va voom is, the dictionary says it"s "the quality of being exciting, vigorous or attractive".

A British firm is doing brisk business with its range of Tuk-Tuks, the three-wheelers popular in the Far East. "I"ve delivered four in the UK, and have orders for another five," said Steve Webb, boss of Freewheeler Autos, Southampton. The motorised rickshaws are a favourite with restaurant delivery drivers.

Electric car maker Tesla has sparked anger by asking buyers of the Roadster to pay for kit that previously came as standard.

US deposit holders now have to fork out for extras like the High Performance Charger and alloys. A car specced to the same standard as before will cost an extra ,700 (£4,908). A UK spokesman has promised prices wonð€™t rise here.
