Cue Kia"s new SUV, called the Kue. Making its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show, the fresh crossover is every bit as dramatic as Range Rover"s Stormer, which appeared at the American expo back in 2004

It is being hailed as a sport utility vehicle which offers real driver enjoyment. And sitting on huge 22-inch wheels with a bold body shape that features minimal glass areas and venturi tunnels at the rear, it"s certainly dramatic to look at.

Kia claims the Kue is even better from behind the wheel. "It is designed first and foremost as a driver"s vehicle," said a spokesman for the company. "While possessing SUV characteristics and capabilities, it focuses more on giving the owner an exhilarating driving experience on the way to the home-improvement centre than on how much it can haul."

However, Kia has no official plans to put the Kue into production at present. But elements of its design - including the bold rear end - will feature on future models.
