It looks as though motorists...

It looks as though motorists are fast learners! Speeding fines have more than halved in the UK over the past year. The figures come from major vehicle hire firm National Car Rental.



The Times newspaper...

The Times newspaper has finally woken up to this fact. The main story on its front page on 30 December 2003 was entitled "Speed camera curbs to halt driver backlash". And on 1 January 2004, the broadsheet came back for more, devoting over half its front page to cynical motoring fines. Stories about a murdered policeman, war on terror and other domestic and international events played second fiddle to the plight of UK car occupants, many of whom are now in danger of being priced out of their vehicles - not by manufacturers, but by politicians punch drunk on power and making money.

In 1997, the message...

In 1997, the message from the newly elected Government, which had Gordon Brown as its high-profile and extremely powerful Chancellor, was: “Things can only get better.” Fast forward 10 years, and the non-driving Mr Brown is, without the permission of a single voter, doing Prime Minister impersonations and even assuming the lofty job title, too. He’s replaced the above slogan with a new one that goes: “I have heard the need for change. Now let the work of change begin.”

Audi"s S line trim can...

Audi"s S line trim can now be specified on a wider range of Audi A3 Sportback models. The package, which includes alloy wheels, sports suspension and part-leather upholstery for a í‚á£1,000 premium, is available on all quattro or DSG-equipped cars. The "Open Sky" panoramic sunroof can also now be added as a í‚á£1,500 option on all models.
