As part of the firm"s www.mini.com website, visitors are invited to click on virtual bubble wrap to uncover this image. The idea is that fans are "bursting" for the new MINI Clubman to arrive, and can register for E-mail updates on the model once they have been shown the official image.

The car, which uses a stretched version of the latest MINI platform, will go on sale in the UK before the end of the year. Its most distinctive feature will be a Mazda RX-8-style suicide rear door on one side, which gives the newcomer an asymmetric look. A conventional tailgate is shunned in favour of van-style double doors, too.
