After losing a disc...

After losing a disc late last year containing data on three million learner drivers, more information has now been left unprotected.

A fault in the Agency’s online system meant the secure Internet connection for driver licensing was lost for 80 minutes on 6 December. It’s confirmed 528 people logged on during that time, and their data – including bank details in 153 cases – was not protected. The DVLA said there was no evidence the website was subject to any attack, but will contact affected motorists. DVLA boss Noel Shanahan added: “I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”
