I’m not quite...

I’m not quite sure why the 7th of the 7th, 2007 was any more of a special date than 5/5/05 or 6/6/06, but we were told we would all remember where we were on that date more than any other – and for a change, that might be right! My only other memory of seven being a lucky number came from growing up watching my heroes, such as Stirling Moss. For a reason I have long forgotten, Moss always preferred to race with that number. Good luck perhaps?

The B4051 Park Row in...

The B4051 Park Row in Bristol was one of the locations where the total number of deaths and serious injuries increased after the installation of a camera. The average was 12.3 per year before the Gatso was introduced, but the figure has leapt to 20 since. Likewise, the number of casualties on the A511 in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, more than doubled - from three to seven a year - after a camera was installed.

ALFA Romeo turned glamour...

ALFA Romeo turned glamour and style up to the max with the show debut of the landmark MiTo.

Photographers found themselves fighting their way through the crowds to get a shot of not one but two cars on display at the 2008 British International Motor Show. This is the first time the sporty supermini has appeared in the UK

ò€œBritish car buyers love sporty models more than in other countries,ò€ said Alfa Romeo marketing director Sergio Cravero. "So we are particularly proud to unveil the MiTo today."

But the new MiTo had to fight for attention with the gorgeous white drop-top 8C Spider, which was also present on the Alfa Romeo stand. It"s one of only 250 to be built.

So far the company has taken 1,300 orders for the supercar, but only 50 lucky people from this country will take ownership by the end of next year. Other hot metal on display included a white Brera Spider, plus a GT coupe and 159 Ti saloon both in an exclusive metallic red.
