Based on the new Fiat Grande Punto, the drop-top supermini, which will appear at the Geneva Motor Show, has been created to maximise interior space. Even though the car uses a folding metal roof, its maker claims the cabin has enough room in the back to sit two adults in comfort.

A new 173bhp 2.0-litre dCi engine is now available for the Renault Laguna. It costs ?750 more than the equivalent 148bhp 2.0-litre dCi unit, but will propel the French family car from 0-60mph in 8.7 seconds and
on to a top speed of 137mph.
The high-performance oil-burner returns 43.4mpg and has CO2 emissions of 172g/km. Prices start at ?19,150 for the Dynamique hatch, rising to ?23,900 for the flagship Initiale Sport Tourer.
